This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies amphilabs.com uses, what each one is for, and how you can change your mind at any time. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store on your device. It lets a site recognise a returning browser — to keep a preference, or to count a visit without counting the same person twice. Related technologies such as local storage work the same way in practice, and we treat them under the same rules here.
The three categories
Functional — always active
These are needed for the site to work and for us to honour your choices. They cannot be switched off, because switching them off would break the thing you asked for. They never track you across other websites, and under Dutch and EU law they do not require your consent.
In our case this category holds exactly one thing: the record of your own cookie choice, so we do not ask you again on every page. We store it in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, under the keys amphi-consent-v1 and amphi-consent-id. It contains your choice, the date, and a random identifier that is not linked to your name or email address.
Statistics — optional, off by default
These help us understand which pages people find useful, so we know what to write more of. They are only placed if you accept them. If you decline, no statistics script is loaded at all.

Advertising features, remarketing and data sharing are switched off in our Google Analytics configuration, IP addresses are truncated before storage, and the data is retained for 14 months.
Marketing — optional, off by default
We currently place no marketing cookies. The category exists so that if we ever add advertising or remarketing technology, it arrives switched off and waits for your permission rather than appearing quietly. If that changes, this page will be updated first and anyone who previously chose will be asked again.
Changing your mind
Your choice is not permanent. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it, and takes effect immediately: we stop loading the relevant scripts and delete any cookies already placed.

We ask again after 12 months in any case, so consent does not quietly persist for years.
Deleting cookies in your browser
You can also clear or block cookies yourself, independently of us. Every major browser offers this under its privacy settings — usually described as "Clear browsing data" or "Cookies and site data". Blocking all cookies may affect how other websites behave, though it will not break this one.
Our record of your choice
The law requires us to be able to demonstrate that consent was freely given, so when you make a choice we keep a record of it: a random identifier generated in your browser, your choice per category, the date, and the version of this policy you were shown. As with any form on this site, our host Netlify also logs the IP address the request came from. We keep these records for as long as the consent is valid and use them for nothing else.
